Pepper Solana
MY STORY
I'm Pepa "Pepper" Solana, born and raised in Madrid, Spain, in 1993.
Since I as a child, my father fed my love for music. He used to play guitar and sing for me when I was a little girl. He liked to sit on the bed next to me, singing and playing until I fell asleep ... In my dreams, those melodies became my passion.
Many are thus the most inspiring and influential artists who shaped my style: Ella Fitzgerald, Marlena Shaw, Black Crowes, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Lisa Fisher, Chaka Khan, Etta James, Yebba, Lizzo ...
At the age of 14, I started touring and making a living as a singer. I toured Spanish speaking countries with my bands and other great artists. In 2017 I traveled to NYC to take a music course at the New York Jazz Academy ... And I knew I belonged there.
Since then, I pursue my dream, working as a waitress, singing at venues and private events and on the streets of New York, performing in off Broadway shows. Fighting every day.
In those years I have had the fortune to perform live with Teddy Riley, Tini Stoessel or Nile Rodgers.
As well as work with producers like Javier Limon or Teddy Riley himself.
In 2022 I launched my first solo album, "De Las Cenizas".
In 2024 "Sentimientos", my recent EP, came out.
I live in Inwood, Manhattan, with my cats and my dog. And I am 100% vegan.
